- Non-uniform day
It was suggested that there should be one per term, at each site, and funds raised should go to Austin. The Charity Committee will decide and co-ordinate.

The PTA will also be helping out 17 school employees who earn minimum salary, by passing on some of the food donations to them each month. | 4. Treasurer |
FL reported that the monthly accounts are available for inspection in the PTA office. |
|
| 5. Extra-curricular activities |
Some children at Urca are still requesting Judo and Capoeira but Geoff Pollard remains intractable. The meeting agreed it was a pity for children who had worked at the sport for four or five years. RJ undertook to try and find a solution.
Activities will start in the first week of term and letters will go out as soon as possible. |
RJ to talk to GP
YN to send letters |
| 6. AGM 2002 |
JB has drafted a circular to parents explaining the procedure for elections at the AGM. (see attached). The meeting agreed to the format. Although not everyone can be on the Elected Council, people will obviously still be welcome to help out on sub-committees. The circular needs to be translated into Portuguese and sent out. It was agreed that it would go out at the very beginning of the new term.

| 7. Any Other Business |
- Class Lists
The perennial question was raised again. It was suggested that the PTA circulate a form within each class, and those who wish to be on it can fill it in, and those who do not, will not. LD will seek approval from the school to circulate this form
- Computers
Some concern was raised over viruses, now that the website may open up communications in general. It is not known how thorough the school's virus protection is.
- Suggestion boxes
Several requests have been made for ping-pong tables. It was agreed that three would be provided in time for next term.
- PTA dinner
LD felt a meeting on 18/12 would not be necessary and proposed a dinner instead on the same night. Venue to be disclosed via email.
