Uniforms

The PTA is not responsible for the School Uniforms anymore. Now it is the School who is responsible for selecting the suppliers of school uniform and for controlling their quality and standard.

In recent meetings the PTA have discussed the lack of definition from School concerning what constitutes acceptable deviation from the uniform list. There did seem to be some misinformation about what constitutes acceptable PE uniform. Some parents feel that the school is not clear enough about what it will tolerate; e.g. the uniform list states black or brown leather shoes, yet almost every child wears trainers. Many children come to school with different coloured jerseys on, yet if a child is wearing tracksuit pants rather than shorts he may not do PE. The inconsistency is confusing and needs to be cleared up.

It was agreed that the PTA would ask the school to send out uniform leaflets again. The uniform leaflets should also be sent home at least annually to remind parents (and suppliers) what is correct uniform. It was also agreed that the uniform guidelines need to be circulated much more frequently in order to inform parents of changes that take place periodically.

At the end of Term 2 (December 2001), all parents received a letter from the Headmaster, Mr. Paul Wiseman, with an official pronouncement from the School concerning the School Uniform and Pupil Appearance. The School also sent a copy of the Uniform Leaflet to all parents.

If you have any doubts in regard of the School uniform, please contact .
