Sodexho has been working in schools around the country with the Around the World Campaign. The idea behind the campaign is to spark the children's interest in the cuisine of other countries, with emphasis on the importance of trying new things. As well as serving typical dishes from the chosen country, an element of local culture or folklore is also introduced.
Mexico was the first country to be represented. The school dining room was decorated in the colours of the Mexican flag and a group of musicians played and sang typical songs to the children during lunch. They loved it!
The second country to be chosen was Japan, and once again the dining room was colourfully decorated. Apart from trying to eat with chopsticks the children were also shown the Japanese art of Origami. Another great success.
